Not less than 30.21 per cent of voters exercised their franchise until 11 am in 9 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh within the third section of the overall elections on Tuesday, a ballot official stated.

Of the 9 Lok Sabha seats, Betul recorded 32.65 per cent, Bhind 25.46 per cent, Bhopal 27.46 per cent, Guna 34.53 per cent, Gwalior 28.55 per cent, Morena 26.62 per cent, Rajgarh 34.81 per cent, Sagar 30.31 per cent and Vidisha 32.64 per cent, the official stated.

Former chief ministers Digvijaya Singh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and state BJP president VD Sharma had been among the many early voters.

Congress chief Digvijaya Singh and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who’re contesting the polls from Rajgarh and Guna, respectively, will be unable to vote for themselves as the previous is a registered voter of Bhopal, and the latter is registered to vote from Gwalior, the get together sources stated.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the BJP’s candidate from Vidisha seat, exercised franchise along with his spouse, Sadhna Singh, and two sons at a polling sales space in his native village, Jait, in Sehore district. – PTI
